Wipers set returns home
This week is a busy week for our staff backstage! With Wipers opening tomorrow night in our B2 studio, Monday saw the “get-in” take place. The term “get-in” simply refers to the arrival of the crew, set, props and costume for a production that has been touring. This is shortly followed by the cast members.
Whilst it may have been the first time at the Belgrade for some of the cast and crew, the set had been here before as our very talented team at Belgrade Production Services (BPS) built the set.
Belgrade Production Services was established by the Belgrade Theatre in 2007 as a way for the Belgrade to diversify its income and to maintain a pool of talented craftsmen in Coventry. From its workshops in Red Lane, Coventry, BPS manufactures and installs sets not only for the Belgrade Theatre but for theatre’s around the country and for film, TV and other events. Amongst others, BPS has built sets for the Watermill Theatre, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Leicester Curve and Stafford Gatehouse. BPS also built the set for The National Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of One Man Two Guv’nors, which starred James Corden.

The Belgrade Theatre Trust is a registered charity (number 219163). This means that all the money given, raised or earned is not distributed as profit but kept and reinvested in the work that we do. For more information please speak to a member of staff or visit www.belgrade.co.uk/support-us
