VIDEO: Dementia Awareness Week at the Belgrade

Posted on 20 May 2016

There are around 3,600 people living with Dementia in Coventry and over the next 10 years, this is expected to rise to approximately 4,500. As numbers of people
living with dementia are predicted to rise in coming years, the Belgrade Theatre is taking steps towards becoming a Dementia-Friendly venue.

This week, the Belgrade hosted free Singing for the Brain workshops and Dementia Information Sessions for the general public and staff of the theatre, coinciding with Dementia Awareness Week. Alice Williams, the Arts Gymnasium Project Manager at the Belgrade discusses how the theatre is working with the 50+ community and the benefits that participating in the arts can have on health and well-being.
