Audience Reaction: The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin

Posted on 14 February 2017

We thought The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin looked amazing in rehearsal, but we’re even more blown away by the production shots! Full of glamour and energy, this show is set to be a hit! We’re co-producing The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin with Theatre Royal Stratford East and it’s hitting our Main Stage 5 – 15 April. Critics have commented on the show:

“A lively show, has something to say and is excellently directed, with many witty touches” – Michael Billington, The Guardian
“Deliver[s] much in the way of humour” – The Reviewers Hub
“An all too rare protagonist” – Fiona Mountford, Evening Standard

The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin boasts a fantastic set with a large, multi-talented cast! Full of sass and energy, they tell this funny and life-affirming coming of age story. The story follows young Viveca as she chooses to face the conflicts of a changing era in America with optimism rather than anger and revolution. Viveca learns to reconcile the realities of racism and sexism with hope and faith – and by doing so discovers her self-worth.
