The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin in rehearsal

Posted on 8 February 2017

This April we will be co-producing The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin with Theatre Royal Stratford East and we cannot wait for to see this life-affirming and funny story come to life on our stage! We thought we would give you a sneaky peak of the fantastic talented team in rehearsals.

The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin is a musical which takes a cheeky and satirical look at how women have been defined by others and themselves throughout the 1960s – 1990s with an original score of jazz, pop, Motown and lots of R&B!

The cast are full of spirit as they perform one of their original catchy numbers Granny’s Advice

This coming-of-age story is topical and is told by a wonderful, energetic cast! The production follows young Viveca, a bright girl from a black middle class family in LA, who dreams of becoming a dancer.
