Video: Spotlight On Asian Youth Theatre

Posted on 22 June 2015

In this video interview, we talk to Drama Worker Reena Jaisiah on working with the Belgrade’s Asian Youth Theatre and Vamos Theatre Company to create Somewhere to Belong.

Following a racist incident on the bus, Ahmed walks into a man handing out leaflets… is this the turning point he’s been searching for? The Belgrade’s newest Youth Theatre group collaborates with Vamos Theatre to create a moving and resonant tale of the inner jihad of an Asian youth.

Somewhere to Belong will be performed as part of the In Our Own Words – July Festival of Theatre by Young People for Young People. The July Festival is part of a year-long programme of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary since the invention of Theatre in Education at the Belgrade.

Tickets for Somewhere to Belong are available now by calling our friendly Box Office team on 024 7655 3055 or book online. All Belgrade productions part of the July Festival are FREE to attend although we do ask that you make a donation towards the Belgrade Community & Education Company.
