Propaganda Swing - The Photo Call
In just a few short weeks, the Belgrade will bring the glitz and glamour of 1930s Berlin to the Main Stage in Peter Arnott’s gripping wartime musical play, Propaganda Swing.
Throwing a spotlight on the gripping true story of ‘Charly and his Orchestra’, this compelling new play reveals the characters behind the story of how some of the greatest German jazz musicians of the day entered into a Faustian pact with the Fascists in order to continue playing their beloved music at the price of seeing it corrupted for evil.
Ahead of rehearsals, we caught up with cast members Chris Andrew Mellon (Otto Stenzl), Bradley Clarkson (Bill Constant), Miranda Wilford (Lala Anderson), Jonny Bower (Charly Schwedler) and Callum Coates (William Joyce, Lord Haw Haw) who joined us for a 1930s inspired photo-shoot at the Belgrade Theatre on Wednesday 16th July set against the backdrop of our very own Berlin ‘cabaret’ club.
You can access a selection of photographs from the shoot by clicking on the gallery to your right. Plus, look out for a step-by step guide to perfecting the art of 1930s high glamour with Miranda Wilford and our friends at SGR Vintage Hair and Makeup coming soon.
Tickets for Propaganda Swing are available now from the box office on 024 7655 3055 priced from £9 – £21.25 or via www.belgrade.co.uk where cheaper tickets are available.
