Making Memories this Christmas
On Wednesday this week we welcomed 180 people (over 40 families) to our first performance of Beauty and the Beast as part of our Making Memories campaign.
Wednesday also saw our Christmas tree go up and our foyers decorated with sparkling stars, purple roses and there were lots of excited children eager to watch the pantomime – so we can safely say that the festive season is well and truly upon us….oh no it isn’t!
One child, who booed and cheered along with the other families this Wednesday, was 8-year old Mollie – who said her favourite bit of the pantomime was “when the monster danced”.
Mollie and her family are currently experiencing housing problems and so thanks to Making Memories, Mollie’s mum said that attending the pantomime
Gave us something to look forward to in this very difficult time and spend time as a family.
With just four weeks left to raise £3,000 all kind donations to “Making Memories”: http://www.belgrade.co.uk/support-us/makingmemories/ are welcome. Your support will provide families in need free access to the Belgrade pantomime, so that they too can experience the joy, excitement and escapism of theatre at this magical time of year
Tuesday 1 December is Giving Tuesday – a global campaign encouraging people to give to charity – and as Barclays Bank (Coventry) have kindly agreed to match all donations made to our campaign (between 1-14 December and up to a maximum of £1,000), there has never been a better time to help spread some festive cheer and help those families most in need.
