Help support new work like Red Snapper

Posted on 2 March 2016

From just £10 you can have a piece of Belgrade Theatre history, and take home a memento from the first professional staging of Red Snapper.

The Belgrade Theatre has a strong commitment to representing the diversity of the city’s communities, and for the last few years has been working hard to build links with local BAME groups. Whilst the representation of BAME communities in our existing groups is largely reflective of the city ratios, the voices of these communities are rarely heard. To address this, the theatre’s work has focused on developing a writing programme, Critical Mass, to develop writers from within the local community, and on running targeted projects, such as the Black Youth Theatre.

Our production of Red Snapper, represents a landmark moment – as it is the first play to come out of the West Midlands Critical Mass group to receive a full professional production, and is a world premiere in the theatre of its birth.

For a donation to the Belgrade Theatre, in support of new work, you can take home a memento from the show*:

£10 = a page from the Stage Managers copy of the script – with notes from the rehearsal room

£15 = a Red Snapper promotional poster signed by the cast, including BAFTA and Golden Globe nominee Cathy Tyson

£25 = a framed professional photograph from the production, taken by Belgrade production photographer Robert Day

*limited numbers of each and subject to availability at the time of making a donation.

The Belgrade Theatre Trust is a registered charity (number 219163). This means that all the money given, raised or earned is not distributed as profit but kept and reinvested in the work that we do. For more information please speak to a member of staff or visit www.belgrade.co.uk/support-us
