Hear from the theatre makers of the future

Posted on 12 July 2017

Tonight is the VIP performance of Rise to official open the All Our Tomorrows. This Festival of Young Theatre Makers consists of young companies from Coventry and beyond, who are creating theatre in a pre or early-professional context. Performers include young theatre makers emerging from the Belgrade’s own Community & Education programme.

Ahead of their big night we caught up with some of the cast of Rise to see how they have found the whole process and what advice they would give to other young theatre makers.

Productions like Rise (and indeed the whole Festival) would not be possible without the generous support of our donors. As a registered charity (number 219163) we are reliant on the support of Trusts, businesses and individuals to be able to provide young people with these opportunities. Lorrein performs in Rise and is part of our Black Youth Theatre, she says

Being in the Black Youth Theatre has given me so many wonderful opportunities and self-confidence. I have learnt a lot about myself, about other people’s ideas and cultures, and it allows me to express my own thoughts and feelings through the workshops

To support our Black Youth Theatre, and help young people like Lorrein have a voice, text BAME22 £2 to 70077, or click here to donate.

The Belgrade Theatre Trust (Coventry) Ltd is a registered charity (no 219163). All the money given, raised or earned is not distributed as profit, but kept and reinvested back into our work.
