Glamorous female chef seeks hot-blooded male for steamy romance

Posted on 26 November 2015

Dame Clarabelle Crumble – star of the Belgrade Christmas panto – is appealing for brave men from across Coventry and Warwickshire to join her on stage this Christmas in Beauty and the Beast, running on the Belgrade Main Stage from 25 Nov 2014 – 10 Jan 2015.

Yes, after only narrowly losing out to Mary Berry as co-host of the ‘Great British Bake Off’ earlier this year, Coventry’s favourite Dame is on the hunt for her very own ‘Paul Hollywood’ to join her on stage for a spot of amateur baking with a difference!

The unsuspecting male will join Dame Clarabelle and her son Willy Crumble as part of the Belgrade’s much-loved ‘slosh’ routine, which this year, takes place in the bakery of the village of Jambon sur la Baguette in France. After the local baker Emile is taken prisoner by an enchanted beast, it is up to Dame Clarabelle, landlady of the Pickled Pheasant Inn, and her son Willy to ensure the villagers have enough to eat. Will Clarabelle’s prize bloomers save the day? Will the village go to bed hungry? Will our chefs stand firm or crumble under the pressure? All will be revealed this Christmas….

‘’As a glamorous older women with over 21 years’ experience in the kitchen, I’m no stranger to a soggy bottom or two which is why I’m in need of a man who knows how to handle his buns!’’ Dame Clarabelle commented.

Seriously though, there comes a time in a girls’ life when a quick nibble just won’t cut it! That’s why this ‘French Fancy’ is on the hunt for a real show-stopper! So if you know a master baker with a firm bottom who’s not afraid to get his hands dirty in the kitchen, do your bit by nominating your boyfriend, husband, dad, workmate or boss to come up on stage and get sloshed this Christmas. He’ll ‘kneed’ to be a good sport though as things are guaranteed to get messy!”

Clarabelle can be quite particular when it comes to her men, so she requests that all nominees be over 18 years old with a full bill of health. More importantly, they need to be Dame, sorry, game for a laugh and willing to get up on stage during the performance!

If you know of any unsuspecting men that are coming to see the show are brave enough to let Dame Clarabelle handle their baguette, please nominate them by emailing the name of the person you would like to put forward, along with the time and date of the performance he will be attending to Steve Cressy at scressy@belgrade.co.uk

Please include ‘Panto Nomination’ in the subject line of your email. The person nominated must be sitting downstairs in the stalls so if possible, please provide the seat number or row he will be sat in.

You can also submit your nomination by post. Title your letter ‘Panto Nomination’ and mark it for the attention of Steve Cressy, Company Stage Manager – then either send it to* The Belgrade Theatre, Belgrade Square, Coventry CV1 1GS, or hand it in at box office.

The (un)lucky man won’t know a thing about it until Dame Clarabelle comes to find him during the show so this is the perfect opportunity to play a joke on a boss, wind-up your dad or simply get revenge on a friend!

Tickets for Beauty and the Beast are available now from the Belgrade’s Box Office on 024 7655 3055 priced from £14.50 to £23 with child and concession tickets from £9.50. Family tickets are priced from £36 to £66 and cheaper tickets can be purchased online via www.belgrade.co.uk.
