Acceptable in the 60s

Posted on 26 June 2014

1964. Kath’s living room in a dilapidated house, built next to a rubbish dump on the outskirts of London.

This is the setting for Joe Orton’s compelling play, Entertaining Mr Sloane. In the 50th anniversary production by London Classic Theatre, Designer Simon Kenny has done an amazing job of creating an intricate and detailed set which transports its audience back to the 60s – something we discovered when we visited the set ourselves.

From paisley prints to taxidermy ducks, see the photos below of 1960s props hidden in around Simon Kenny’s set design. Read the interview with Simon Kenny to find out more about the inspiration behind the his chaotic design.

Tickets for Entertaining Mr Sloane are available now from just £10.25 by calling our friendly Box Office team on 024 7655 3055 or book online for cheaper tickets.
