Did you know...you can experience even more?

Posted on 3 July 2012

Have you ever wanted to see backstage of the Belgrade, watch a set being built or rummage through our huge wardrobe?

As part of the Friends of the Belgrade Theatre membership scheme you can! Friends of the Belgrade Theatre was set up to enhance the theatre going experience of our patrons and let them have an insight into the workings of the theatre and its productions.

As well as receiving discounts on tickets, advanced notice, priority booking and regular newsletters; the Friends of the Belgrade Theatre are also treated to exclusive events. In the past Friends have attended season talks with our Artistic Director Hamish Glen, backstage tours, visits to Belgrade Production Services, script read throughs, dress rehearsals of We Love You City, Cinderella, Mother Goose, Bomber’s Moon, Scottish Dance Theatre and Moscow Ballet and seen the set of Too Much Pressure being built in B2. They were even given make up tips by none other than Dame Dorothy Do It AKA Andy Hockley during Beauty and the Beast.

Friends of the Belgrade Theatre not only offer great experiences for members, it also generates income for the Belgrade Theatre, which as a registered charity relies on the support of individuals within the community to continue to offer the very best entertaining, educational and thought-provoking productions, and to develop our creative professionals to ensure a successful future for the Arts.

You can find out more about our charitable activities and how you can support the Belgrade Theatre by visiting the Support Us pages of our website.

Since joining the Friends of the Belgrade scheme, I have been able to see what goes on behind the scenes and the amount of work involved in each production. It has been extremely varied and interesting and also good to meet like minded people.
