Did you know... we're holding a special Gala Evening to celebrate our 5th Anniversary

Posted on 21 August 2012

The Belgrade reopened in September 2007 with the addition of a new studio space (B2) and a reignited vision to reconnect with its history as a pioneering risk taking theatre that took a chance of new work and produced challenging shows that resonated with the people of Coventry.

“If Glen succeeds, the Belgrade could become the most radical and
innovative rep in the country” The Guardian, 2007

“I have nothing but admiration for Hamish’s artistic vision…when I saw the programme he was proposing, my jaw dropped.” Trevor Nunn

Five years on, the Belgrade Theatre are holding a special event to celebrate the journey that we have been on and to hear about our plans for the future. The event will include:

  • A pre show discussion
Hamish Glen (Artistic Director and Chief Executive) and Justine Themen (Associate Director, Community & Education) talk about the success of the Belgrade over the past five years and an insight into our journey for the future
  • Post Show party
The cutting of a 5th Anniversary Birthday Cake and a Toast to the Belgrade’s future. With live music from five-piece band, The Kustom

Tickets for this event and the Post Show party, cost £22.25 including entry to see 20th Century Boy on the Main Stage or £17.50 to see Fragile in B2. To book and pay for your tickets, please call the Box Office on 024 76 553055 and quote Gala.
