Curtains For Daisy The Cow as Pantomime Prank Ends In Tragedy

Posted on 5 December 2014

Christmas shopping was brought to a standstill in Coventry yesterday afternoon following reports of a pantomime prank which ended in tragedy.

Bemooosed shoppers looked on in horror as the disjoined head and back legs of what was later confirmed to be a pantomime cow were recovered from Broadgate Central Square at 12.00 hours amidst cries of ‘Oh No It Isn’t!’ and ‘Oh Yes It Is’ from the onlooking crowds.

The victim, who goes by the name of ‘Daisy’, was last seen exiting Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre in the early hours of Wednesday morning during rehearsals for the theatre’s alternative B2 Christmas crime-thriller Oh No It Isn’t!

The death was originally assumed to be the result of a severe case of stage fright when police recovered a loaded pistol from Daisy’s lower left udder. After a second post mortem however, it was revealed that the pantomime cow was a victim of poisoning.
Police are treating the death as suspicious after receiving reports of two actors exiting the Belgrade Stage Door in the early hours of Wednesday carrying an apple and an object later confirmed to be a ‘slapstick’.

Fellow cast members Jackie and Sal are said to be udderly devastated by the news.

Back by popular demand, Oh No It Isn’t! Is the brilliant comedy thriller written and directed by acclaimed Coventry writer, Nick Walker.

Four actors are performing a Christmas panto. For the audience it’s a fun, yuletide treat – for the actors on stage, it’s a matter of life and death! We soon discover that the cast are all embroiled in a plot to kill each other. A prop gun is swapped for the real thing and a poisoned apple is on the menu.
Who’s bean-stalking who? Will the Giant come out on top? Or will it be curtains for Daisy the cow?
The cry of “He’s behind you!” has never sounded so chilling!
