Coventry Festival Band 'Tune Up' for Brassed Off Stage Debut

Posted on 14 April 2014

Saturday shoppers in Coventry City Centre were treated to a BRASSED OFF inspired afternoon of musical celebration on the 12th April courtesy of local stars of the show, The Coventry Festival Band.

The local performance group, who will appear live on the Belgrade Main Stage from Wed 23 – Sat 26 April, took to the streets of Coventry for a musical ‘walking tour’ of the City Centre which included stop offs at the Belgrade Plaza, Lower Precinct Shopping Centre and Broadgate Central Square.

Led by 22 year old conductor and former Grimethorpe Colliery Band member Josh Hughes, the band treated crowds to renditions of such memorable numbers as Death Or Glory, The Floral Dance and the tear-jerking Concerto De Aranjuiz (often known as Orange Juice).

If you missed the band in action on Saturday, take a look at these exclusive video highlights from the day featuring an interview with Conductor Josh.

Brassed Off visits the Belgrade Main Stage from Wed 23 – Sat 26 April. For tickets, call our friendly Box Office staff on 024 7655 3055 or buy online for cheaper tickets at www.belgrade.co.uk.
