Cast announced for Oh No It Isn't!
This Christmas, comedy thriller Oh No It Isn’t! is back at the Belgrade to deliver more festive fun for grown-ups! We are delighted to announce that we have now cast four esteemed actors, including two familiar faces.
Returning to the Belgrade Theatre is local actress, Katy Stephens (pictured above). Katy will be reprising the role of Jack in this year’s production and is no stranger to the Belgrade having peformed in previous productions of Twelfth Night, Sleeping Beauty, Our Day Out and Silas Marner. The Coventry based actress is a regular at the RSC having performed most recently in Candide and Titus Andronicus and has also performed a number of times at the Mercury Theatre in Colchester.
Also returning to the Belgrade to play the role of Tony and the Vicar is Richard Kidd. Richard has worked with Oh No It Isn’t! Writer and Director Nick Walker on many productions including We Love You City for the Belgrade Theatre and We’re Only Here Today by Talking Birds Theatre Company. Credits include numerous productions for Oxford-based, Creation Theatre Company and Staffordshire’s New Vic Theatre.
Playing the role of Sam, will be actor Tom Shepherd (pictured above). Tom will be appearing at the Belgrade for the first time and has many credits under his belt including Superior Donuts (Southwark Playhouse), Finer Noble Gases (Theatre Royal Haymarket) and Oedipus Retold (Tristan Bates Theatre).
Completing the line-up is actress Emily May Smith in the role of the Giant and Sal. Emily has performed in many production for the Bristol Old Vic including Twenty Four Hour Plays, Miniskirts in Kabul, The Cherry Orchard, All’s Well That Ends Well, The Good Soul of Szechuan, Does My Society Look Big in This?, Wild Oats and Peter Pan.
Written and directed by Coventry writer, Nick Walker, Oh No It Isn’t! follows four actors performing a Christmas pantomime. We soon discover the cast are embroiled in a plot to kill each other – for the audience, it’s a fun yuletide treat, but for the cast on stage, it’s a matter of life and death! A prop gun is swapped for the real thing and a poisoned apple is on the menu…
