Captioning Awareness Week

Posted on 8 November 2017

We’re delighted to be marking Caption Awareness Week (6-11 November) by highlighting some of our upcoming captioned shows at the Theatre. There are 11 million people in the UK who are living with hearing impairments and our captioned performances allow deaf, deafened or hard of hearing patrons to enjoy and access theatre shows.

As we approach Christmas, we’re getting geared up for our annual pantomime. This year we will be presenting the nation’s favourite panto, Cinderella. We’re thrilled to be hosting two captioned performances for panto, the first will be on Thursday 6 December at 6.30pm and the second will be on Wednesday 10 January at 10am. Our January captioned performance is also a relaxed performance, which is specifically designed to be an open and welcoming environment for those audience members who may enjoy, or benefit from, a more relaxed performance style.

For more information about what captioned performances are, please view our blog post detailing what captioning is and who it is for.
