Join us for our fifth New Black Showcase and discover the exciting playwriting talent of the future. Once again the Belgrade is providing a platform for the voices of new writers from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. Previous New Black Showcase writers include Liz Mytton, whose play Red Snapper went on to be professionally produced by the Belgrade in 2016.

Maroon rebel Accompong attempts to woo the Queen of Blue Mountain whilst Chief Cudjoe makes a deal with an infamous Jewish trader. Join us for Shakespeare’s _The Merchant of Venice _with a Caribbean twist.

Futuretheatre (3 Nov)
Midlands-based Futuretheatre presents extracts from Invisible by Daniel Anderson and Ninety Days by Ashok Patel as a tantalising taster before their showcase at mac Birmingham.
